The CQ team visited the Pace Building, DMU to experience an unconventional take on stage performance through live DIY electronic soundscaping.
Presented by the Dirty Electronics Ensemble, self-made amplifiers where used to bring the audience strange and interesting sounds that would not be considered “normal” music but is music but different. A range of pieces where performed each utilising unique ways of making sound and instruments built using household objects.
Electronic currents induced by the human body (within safe thresholds), feedback loops, lights, physical interaction and even the voice became the catalyst driving the aural experience for the audience.
After enjoying the range of sounds just as much as how they were made CQ spoke to students and lecturers about their inspirations and artistic direction
Hear what they had to say about new and experimental ways of making music in the CQ Podcast- COMING SOON!
